Dafydd Elis-Thomas
Assembly Member for Dwyfor Meirionnydd

President of the Porthmadog Chamber of Trade & Commerce

“Welcome to the delights of this unique area of Tremadog Bay. Although Porthmadog and Tremadog are relatively new towns in terms of Welsh history at just 200 years old, they sit in a very old and striking landscape. It is an area of special marine conservation lying offshore between the Eryri-Snowdonia National Park and the Llyn Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The secret of Porthmadog’s success is to combine the exhilaration of living in such a beautiful setting with a natural pride in its cultural, artistic and industrial history. At the same time, it offers business and commercial opportunities in a range of services and tourism destinations, especially outdoor activity and of course quality agriculture and food.

We enjoy sharing a lifestyle with all who wish to appreciate it. Not least those amazing sea-turtles and dolphins which love our marine feeding grounds in Tremadog Bay and the magnificent Ospreys returning yearly to nest on the Glaslyn Estuary, you can join them!”
