Activities around Porthmadog

  • Glaslyn Indoor Leisure Centre by the main railway station boasts a state-of-the-art leisure centre, sports hall, magnificent swimming pool, toddlers' pool, squash courts and superb fitness suite.
  • On Black Rock Sands sunbathe and swim to your heart's content whilst enjoying mountain scenery. The shallow water makes it a haven for youngsters, but note that the area is popular with Jet Ski and powerboat enthusiasts. These are kept well away from sensible bathers. Facilities Include beach parking, toilets, Showers, drinking water, dog and craft restriction zones and launch Area
  • Golf Porthmadog Club, Many golfers use Porthmadog as their base and play at the ever popular Porthmadog course five minutes drive from the town centre, located in Morfa Bychan. Others include the Championship course of Royal St David’s in Harlech or the stunning cliff top views at Nefyn. Other good courses include Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsula and Pwllheli.
  • Fishing is either for salmon in the river Glaslyn or trout in the many farms lakes and reservoirs within a short distance
  • Quad Biking in Morfa Bychan
  • Rock Climbing in Tremadog
